Clad & Lined Pipe Connector
The MORGRIP® Clad & Lined Pipe (CLiP) Connector is the only DNV Type Approved method to permanently repair pipelines which are clad or lined with corrosion resistant alloy (CRA). These pipeline systems cannot be repaired in the conventional manner as the pipe media, if allowed to bypass the CRA, will penetrate the base metal leading to failure. Developed under a joint industry project with 2 major operators and witnessed throughout by DNV in accordance with RP-A203 Technology Qualification, MORGRIP® CLiP provides a reliable, repeatable, permanent repair that does not prevent pigging operations or other long term inspection and maintenance programs. Deploying an End Seal Module that is fitted to conventional MORGRIP® designs, including onshore, topside, subsea and remote deepwater connectors, the technology uses graphite seals that engage onto the pipe inner diameter, ensuring continuation of the CRA lining. MORGRIP® CLiP Connectors, ideal for emergency repair, planned shutdown or contingency stock, are based on over 30 years of MORGRIP® technology and application. Quicker, easier, safer and significantly cheaper than complex hyperbaric welding or pipeline replacement.

The unique gripping and graphite sealing technology ensures a connection that is at least as strong as the pipe itself, outperforming quality welds in fatigue loading. A DNV Type Approved product, MORGRIP® enables a certified permanent repair for a wide range of pipe material, pressured, diameter and temperatures. With over 3000 supplied since the 1980’s MORGRIP® retains a 100% in-service leak free record. These products are quick and easy to install significantly reducing shutdown windows and associated operational costs.
Split Sleeve Repair Clamp
MORGRIP Split sleeve repair clamps are manufactured in two halves so the clamp can fit round the repair location without need-ing to cut the pipe. The sealing arrangement provides full containment around the damaged section of pipe (leak sealing only). If required, we can design the clamp to have a gripping section to provide a fully permanent structural repair that can be DNV Product Certified. Our clamps are application specific and designed, forged and fabricated to the exact requirements of the operator and repair location. This bespoke service ensures a fully configurable solution of the highest quality. Suitable for onshore, topside, diver installed or deepwater remote repair, our engineered MORGRIP clamps provide an increased lev-el of safety and reassurance when repairing critical pipelines or being stored as part of an emergency pipeline repair system or contingency plan.
Remote Clamps
Our remote clamps are engineered solutions to meet the direct needs of the project. As such we have a wide variety of field proven options to address different pipe media, locations, pipe sizes, pressures and geographical conditions. The majority of subsea clamps (also referred to as split sleeve clamps) have a split body that enables the installation around a pipeline, without needing to cut out the damaged section. Once installed, the activation of a split sleeve clamp is achieved through the bolt tensioning of the studs located along the flange where the split occurs. As well as standard split sleeve designs with a bolted flange, operated with ROV torque tools, we can offer a unique C-Bar system which enables the activation to take place from a single location. With all our remote clamps, the hydraulic activation equipment sits either on the ROV or within an installation and deployment frame. Both systems can be recovered to the surface after successful installation. This not only reduces the size and weight of the clamp repair left on the pipeline, but minimises the amount of tooling.
Conductor Repair Clamp
The conductor repair clamp is specifically developed for repair of conductors with damage in the guide funnels. This can frequently occur due to damaged and broken centralisers. Repair within the guide funnel is particularly challenging due to the restricted access that prevents the use of standard clamps with longitudinal bolting. Using our patented C-Bar activation, our conductor repair clamp mitigates the need for longitudinal bolting to ensure a fit within the guide tunnel. Activation via the top or bottom enables fast, easy and safe access. Including a structural and a sealing element, the clamp can take the full structural load of the conductor and prevent leaks from occurring. Delivered with custom centralizers mounted on the body to reinstate the centralizing function, the clamp addresses the potential root cause of the original failure. Our conductor repair clamp is a field proven solution which enables the efficient, safe and secure repair required to bring the wells back into production.
Anchor & Holdback Clamps
The Anchor & Holdback clamp is specifically designed to grip onto the coating of a pipeline to retain its movement and prevent pipeline walking, which left unchecked can cause cumulative axial displacement leading to potential failure at tie-ins or risers. Where traditional methods require the coating to be removed to enable the structural interface with the pipeline, our hold-back clamps can achieve the same structural capacity but without the need for coating removal. Mitigating the coating removal operation not only reduces the cost and risk of the subsea operation, but ensures the insulation remains intact, an important consideration for pipeline flow assurance. Typically required in deepwater or harsh environments, our clamps are remotely installed, further increasing operational safety and reliability.
Hot Tap Tee Clamps
MORGRIP Hot Tap Tee Clamps are a modification of our structural repair clamps but with the addition of a flanged tee branch for the mounting of the hot tap system or pipe-line bypass. Manufactured in two halves to enable installation on to the pipe, the sealing arrangement provides full containment around the hot tap location. The gripping section provides a fully permanent structural repair that can be DNV Product certified. Our clamps are application specific and designed, forged and fabricated to the exact requirements of the operator and hot tap location. This bespoke service ensures a fully configurable solution of the highest quality. Suitable for onshore, topside, diver installed or deepwater remote repair, our engineered MORGRIP clamps provide an increased level of safety and reassurance when repairing critical pipelines or being stored as part of an emergency pipeline repair system or contingency plan.
Remote Welding
Our Remote Welding Pipeline Repair System is a suite of equipment designed to provide a capability for subsea pipe joining using a hyperbaric MIG fillet-welding process. It is an important tool in an Emergency Pipeline Repair System (EPRS). We were selected as a key supplier for this project because of our significant subsea experience and our ability to work on all parts of the project, from initial specification to the final operational stage.
Lifting & Handling Frames
Pipeline Lifting & Handling Frames facilitate inspection, free span correction, maintenance and repair of subsea pipelines. Incorporating a modular foot design for multiple seabed conditions and independent leg length configuration, the frame can provide secure, stable and controlled interface with the pipeline, regardless of the location, water depth or sea current. Light weight and easy to handle, the entire Pipeline Lifting & Handling Frame can fold and pack into a standard 10ft shipping container. This makes it an applicable option regardless of vessel size or location. With over 1000 subsea operations completed these tools are proven to be both robust and reliable, while also providing an increased level of safety and control when manipulating subsea pipelines. These tools are available to rent as standard units or can be sold as bespoke engineered solutions to your specific application requirements.
Pipe Coating Removal Tools
Our Pipeline Coating Removal Tool enables the removal of all coatings including FBE, without any risk to damaging the parent pipeline. This assurance is critical when using the exposed pipe as an interface for subsea intervention. Deploying a patented cutting head technology, the tool can follow the contour of the pipe regardless of pipeline tolerances and ovality, providing full assurance that all coating is removed. A separate module can remove the weld bead if necessary. Suitable for both horizontal and vertical application, the tool is light weight and easy to mobilize. As a fully remote system the tool ensures safe, reliable, controllable and efficient subsea operation up to 3000mwd while also providing the very best possible surface finish which is qualified for use with MORGRIP Clamps and Connectors.
Pipe Cutting Tools
Our pipe cutting tools have been developed to accommodate an extensive range of materials and thicknesses for rigid pipelines, flexibles, anchor chains and ropes. If the cut is part of a pipeline repair operation, it in important to select the correct pipe cutting tool to insure a suitable interface with other system components. For most repair operations it is required that the pipeline is cut to a near square cut with +/-0.5degrees. For this purpose we offer both circular saws and diamond wire saws.
Pipe End Preparation Tool
Pipeline End Preparation Tools ensure that after a subsea pipeline is cut, the end can be machined to the required tolerance for the next step in operation, whether that be the installation of a mechanical connector, end termination or weld. A light, simple ROV dedicated tool is both quick and easy to mobilize and operate, ensuring that the pipe cut is both square and all burring removed. This assurance fully mitigates risk of causing damage to interfacing components and ensures the correct operational tolerances are achieved. A simple tool mounting on the pipe inner diameter ensures the machining plate can be modified to suit a wide range of pipeline sizes, materials and tolerances. This solution provides an increased level of safety and control when preparing to interface subsea pipelines, reducing operation-al risk.
Connector/ Clamp Installation Frame
To instigate a pipeline repair subsea it is critical the clamp or connector is correctly aligned and supported prior to activation. In diver installed applications this is easily achieved through buoyancy and rigging, however, in remote operation specific installation solutions needs to be deployed in order to achieve reliable, repeatable and controlled operation. Our remote clamp and connector installation frames are designed specifically for the repair location – considering the seabed and environmental conditions, repair type, size, weight and tolerance of the connectors or clamps and mobilization capability of the vessels. This bespoke engineering is based on over 30 years of re-mote repair track record which provides the highest level of reliability, safety and control. Our optimized approach delivers commercial solutions to the world’s harshest environments.
ROV Skid & Backpack
Remote Operated Vehicles (ROV) Skids, Backpacks and Hydraulic Pow-er Units (HPU) are required to provide power and control to remote operated tools and equipment. Our systems interface with standard work class ROV’s to enable the operation of remote pipeline repair & Tie-in systems. The remote operated valve packs have full 0-100% proportional control over both the flow and pressure. Fed from a 200l reservoir, the system is fully adaptable for a wide range of applications and equipment including a minimum of 2 lifting operations of our Pipeline & Lifting Tools without the need to refill. The “dirty pack” is fitted with separate filters to avoid contamination in the oil. The skid structure is based on an Envirex skid with smart sliding frame for easy access, filter change, maintenance and service. The Topside control systems (laptops, software, switchboard, deck test system and all cabling) have been specifically developed for flexibility within the control system to enable its use for multiple tools and applications. Our ROV skids and control systems provide a flexible, reliable and robust solution to operating remote systems in harsh or deepwater environments.
Pipeline Retrieval Tools
Our Pipeline Retrieval Tool is a mechanically operated jaw de-signed grip onto flexibles, umbilical’s and rigid pipelines or risers to enable retrieval of the pipe to the surface. The reinforced jaws have interchangeable inserts to enable the tool to be modified for a wide range of pipe dimensions, materials and coatings. Having the ability to adapt the interface provides control and assurance to the subsea operation. The lifting points are adjacent to the centre of the jaws and are hinged. This feature ensures a controlled lift by mitigating the bending moment in the load. Designed for easy mobilisation and operation, the tool has a standard ROV class 4 interface and a working load limit of 115t. This solution has been tested up to 200t and has a quick, safe and robust method of retrieving pipe from the seabed.
Hydraulic & Chemical Couplers
Our High Flow Couplers enable hydraulic and chemical lines to be mated subsea, quickly and efficiently. Optimized for high flow and high pressure, the design includes a self-sealing feature with a low separation force, making the equipment not only suitable for all applications, but providing a safe, reliable and easy to operate interface that prevents leaking poppets at low pressure. This compact, space saving design is modular, which enables a standardisation of components. This approach allows a reduction in manufacturing costs and accelerated production, enabling a quicker, more competitive supply route. We have incorporated a flexible seal solution within the seal cartridge on the female “flying” coupler. Should damage occur during mating/de-mating the modular seal is easily replaced. The design enables a large misalignement between male and female couplers. The fully welded housing minimises leak point, providing a robust, safe and reliable connection.
Heavy Duty ROV Connectors
Our Heavy Duty (HD) Connectors enable the quick, secure and permanent connection of a hydraulic or chemical control lines between subsea infrastructure. Integrating our hydraulic and chemical couplers in an adaptable locking system enables a field proven system that allows for a high degree of misalignment during mating. This makes installation both quicker, easier and improves the general reliability. The inboard section fitted to the subsea infrastructure is the male coupler. The outboard (flying) section is the female that contains the sealing elements. This makes change out, maintenance and repair incredibly easy. Our robust design is to accommodate rough handling and to ensure a system that reduces both the risk of connection failure and reduces installation time. We offer a full range of parking positions, test and flushing as well as pressure compensated caps and protective caps.
MQC Stab plates
An MQC plate is fitted with multiple hydraulic/chemical couplers that enable transfer of a variety of fluids between subsea systems such as trees and manifolds. Manufactured in male and female pairs, each MQC plate is de-signed specific for the application. Our MQC plates are fitted with our hydraulic and chemical couplers that enable a compact, lightweight design that is easy to handle and quick to install – reducing subsea operation and installation time. Fitted with a secondary release mechanism which is easy to operate, the MQC plate provides a secure interface within the subsea distribution system. With all critical locking system elements and seals located in the flying MQC plate, should any damage occur, the plate can be easily retrieved, repaired or replaced without requiring interfering with the subsea asset. This solution gives the operator an increased level of safety and control during subsea operation.
Flying Leads & Ancillaries
Subsea flying lead systems are typically flexible pipes that transmit a variety of fluids, including chemical and hydraulics, between subsea structures. A vital component to any subsea infield system, the flying leads are connected only after the subsea structures are in place. To make the connection, the leads are “flown” in by remote operated vehicles (ROV).
Small Bore Ball Valves
Our ball valves, for ½” to 2” high pressure control systems, are a form of quarter-turn valve which uses a pivoting perforated ball to control flow. Implementing a unique manufacturing process we are able to weld rather than bolt the components. Not only does this considerably in-crease the quality and reliability of each unit, but it also significantly reduces the size and weight up to 70% of industry alternatives. With flexible, modular and interchangeable sealing options we can supply competitive solutions from hydraulic valves to high performance gas applications. Fully qualified to PSL 3 / 3G, this lightweight and compact solution provides the highest level of safety and assurance, reducing operational risk and cost.
Emergency Pipeline Repair Systems & Contingency
An Emergency Pipeline Repair System (EPRS) is the result of the process of developing an emergency repair readiness procedure and retaining the necessary tooling, equipment and services to cope with unplanned repairs, minimizing the resultant damage to the environment and field operation. At the core of our EPRS and Contingency solution is our MORGRIP Clamp, Connectors and Installation tooling. As oil and gas production extends into harsher and ever deeper environments, new challenges are constantly emerging. These include technical issues such as pipeline material selection, manufacture and installation, well fluid compositions, along with increasing pressures and temperatures and other infield demands. Commercial issues also exist with regards to the scope of equipment supplied within the insurance of an EPRS, and the contractual challenges of mobilization, storage and maintenance for the full life service of the field.
